SOT BAB

Pleasantly surprised by the food in this Korean restaurant.
We tried braised Mackerel set, hotpot bulgogi set, pork bulgogi, and tuna kimchi jigae.
Food is yummy. I’ve attached some of the menu but there are a lot more dishes.
Was tempted to try their marinated crabs which is their signature dish.
Full house on a Saturday night.
Restaurant is simple and cosy, with both indoor aircond seating and outside non aircond seatings.
Will definitely come again.

Went last Sunday night. Walked in 8pm, put on waiting list for 30 mins. Slow to take order and some messed up orders going to wrong tables. Korean auntie, young man and 2 foreign workers serving the customers. Full house. They were extremely pleasant and apologetic. We didn't mind as not in any hurry. Pork bulgogi and the teriyaki-ish chicken were both good. Pancake was one of the best we've had in Malaysia but we preferred it without the octopus topping, made it too sweet and soggy. As they served they introduced the sot bab to customers and how Koreans make a broth with the crispy rice bottom. Portions were huge. End of the night, the boss gave "service" (complimentary) bingsu to all remaining tables and went to each to apologise for the service. 5 stars for food and service but don't come at peak hours if you are impatient or short of time. The kimchi was good, we bought both homemade cabbage and radish ones at the Korean mart opposite Jaya Grocer (same owner).
